Firstly, I’d like to welcome our newest contributor Gina Rizzi-Lakiotes, the star of YouTube’s Mermaid Eats. She’ll be sharing her favorite savory spots in NYC with us. While we wait for the much anticipated Halloween Treats review, Mermaid Eats made a quick trip to the East Village bakery, Sweet Generation.
Not only are they pumping out deliciously adorable desserts, but they are a on a mission to help NYC’s youth. So, you can feel little less guilty about that unicorn cupcake (or two).
Sweet Generation is a social enterprise bakery in NYC, with a retail store, wholesale operation, and a social mission program (RISE) that trains and employs young people from marginalized communities in our creative bakery space, while empowering and preparing them to access quality employment.
